No matter who you are or what your background, an African safari usually ends up on everyone’s bucket list…and there are few experiences that will leave you utterly changed.
To visit Africa is to experience the raw intensity and beauty of creation. From the Great Migration of the Serengeti to watching lions carefully and surgically stalk their prey, Africa never ceases to amaze.
If you’re a first-timer, it’s usually best to start with a South Africa adventure through Kruger National Park. This can easily be paired with visiting Capetown and, if you’re a food & wine lover, a few nights in the Winelands can’t be missed.
Africa is one of those places that draws people back, so for your future safaris, we’d recommend getting a little further from “away from the things of man” and consider Tanzania, Botswana, and Namibia. Tanzania, while on the scene for awhile, has rougher roads and the infrastructure is quite different from South Africa while still providing beautiful lodges, luxury tents, and the most important comforts of home. Botswana and Namibia both are also developing more property options and provide comfortable amenities in the midst of stunning surroundings.
