Okay, confession time: I’m about to do something that simultaneously excites me and scares me to death.
I’m launching a podcast.
And honestly? I have no idea what I’m doing.
But here’s the thing—some of the best decisions I’ve ever made started with that exact feeling. Like when I left my corporate job to start this travel business. Terrifying? Absolutely. Worth it? Every single day.
So let me tell you what I’m doing, why I’m doing it, and why I hope you’re going to love it (once I figure out how to not sound like a nervous wreck on camera, that is).
Meet “Wish You Were Here…”
The name came to me pretty easily: “Wish You Were Here…” You know, like those postcards people used to send (and some of us still send) when traveling somewhere amazing. It’s that universal feeling of wanting to share an incredible moment or place with someone you care about.
That’s exactly what I want this podcast to be—audio/video postcards from the world of travel, but with way more behind-the-scenes stories and none of the terrible handwriting.
Why Now? Why a Podcast?
Here’s what I’ve realized: I truly love what I do. I love my clients. I love curating experiences that feel deeply personal—those rare, “un-Googleable” moments you can’t find online or in any AI database. And also, because stories deserve to travel too!
There are so many curious travelers, armchair explorers, and even fellow travel professionals I may never have the chance to work with directly. Launching a podcast felt like the perfect way to open the doors a little wider—to share insights, stories, and inspiration with anyone who loves travel as much as I do!
Who Is This For?
Honestly? Anyone who travels. Or wants to. Or just likes a good story.
Maybe you’re a seasoned traveler looking for fresh perspectives.
Maybe you’re planning your first solo trip and need a dose of courage.
Maybe you’ve always wondered what actually happens when your flight gets canceled or your hotel “loses” your reservation.
And if you’re in the travel industry—current, aspiring, or somewhere in between—I want to pull back the curtain a bit on my world. To talk about the real stuff: the good, the bad, and the “you won’t believe what happened next” stories.
What You Can Expect
I’m planning several different types of episodes because, honestly, I get bored easily and I figure you do too.
Solo Episodes
Think of these as AV postcards from my travels, behind-the-scenes industry insights, and those educational deep dives that make you sound smarter at dinner parties.
Storytelling Episodes
Client trip stories (anonymized, of course), destination immersion pieces, and my personal favorite—travel successes and epic fails. Because let’s be honest, sometimes the best stories start with a disaster.
Interview Episodes
Conversations with local guides who know where to find the best street food at 11 PM, hotel owners who can get you access to places you didn’t even know existed, chefs who’ll teach you their grandmother’s secret recipe, and other travelers sharing their “this trip changed my life” stories.
Plus, my colleague Stacy will join me as co-host on some episodes, which means I’ll have someone to keep me from going off on too many tangents (good luck with that, Stacy).
What Makes This Different?
There’s no shortage of travel podcasts these days. Some focus on destinations, some on deals—but this one’s about the in-between moments.
Wish You Were Here… is about the stories that don’t make the brochure: the locals who open their doors, the travelers whose plans fall apart (and come back together better than before), and the quiet magic that happens when real people connect in real places.
Because at its heart, great travel isn’t curated by code and algos—it’s created through curiosity, relationships, and a little bit of chaos.
A Sneak Peek at What’s Coming
I won’t give everything away (where’s the fun in that?), but here’s a little preview of what’s coming.
The first episode sets the stage with a personal story—how a leap of faith from corporate life led me into this wild, wonderful world of travel design. It’s more candid than I usually get, but it feels like the right place to start.
Another early episode revisits a moment I’ll never forget: when a tour operator suddenly collapsed mid-trip, and every plan—and emotion—was put to the test. It’s a story about resilience, trust, and what really happens behind the scenes when things fall apart.
You can also expect conversations about how to choose a trustworthy travel advisor, and a peek into what those elusive, “un-Googleable” experiences actually look like in real life.
The Technical Stuff
You’ll be able to find “Wish You Were Here…” wherever you listen to podcasts—Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, wherever.
