New Year, New Adventures

Here we are…2018. January is nearly over, but no one seems to be wasting time getting their travel plans together for the year! We already have planning underway for dozens of clients and new requests are coming in every day… This is going to be a fun year!

I (Deb) came off of a big trip through Europe at the end of last year and am right now only weeks away from returning to France. Friends and family always ask me how I design my own trips, so I thought it might be fun to share with you all.

It seems to surprise people when I say that I don’t do things much differently for myself than I do for my clients. As seasoned of a traveler as I was when I started this business, the amount of insight, connections, and education I’ve received from working in the industry now has radically changed the way I plan and travel myself.

One key thing that has changed is the extent to which I trust all the websites, social media feeds, or travel apps out there. There seem to be more everyday (which I find overwhelming at times) and, while I do find inspiration through them at times, I don’t use them as my authority. Instead, I rely primarily on our local partners in whatever country I’m traveling to. They are amazing resources of individuals who, not only are from the country, but their job is to assist travelers in experiencing their country.

It may sound a little old-school, but even in 2018, these are most reliable, trusted sources who can really provide me with the kind of insider knowledge and intimate, immersive experiences I’m always looking for when I travel.

Oh, and the other thing I have really learned is the earlier I can start planning, the better!

So if you don’t already have the ball rolling on your 2018 adventure, I’d recommend kicking that off SOON! Feel free to reach out to us – we’d love to help!

We’re ready whenever you are!
