What this is
We publish a collection of active expedition journeys with real routes and real prices. Kilimanjaro. Everest Base Camp. The Salkantay Trail into Machu Picchu. The Galápagos on foot and in the water. Tour du Mont Blanc. Alaska.
They're already designed. The lodges are chosen, the routing is sequenced, the permits are understood, and the price is on the page.
So if you have a client who wants one of these and you'd rather not spend three weeks learning a destination you may never sell again, that's what this is for. You're not starting from a blank sheet, and neither is your client.
The commission
Most operators in this part of the business do one of two things. They publish ten percent, or they say “generous commissions” and make you call.
I'm not publishing a number, and the reason is that there isn't one number. The rate moves with booking value, so whatever figure I put on this page would be wrong for a good half of you.
What I'll say is this. Our base sits above the ten percent that's standard in this segment, and it goes up from there on larger bookings. Write me with the journey and the party size and I'll tell you exactly what you'd earn on it, before you spend an hour building a proposal around it.
Paid on departure. Not thirty days after.
Your client stays your client
This is the part that breaks most arrangements between advisors and suppliers, so I'm going to be unusually specific about it.
You are the advisor of record. Your client is registered to you from the day we take a deposit, with their written consent.
And it doesn't expire. Every booking that client ever makes with us pays you, at your full rate, for as long as they keep traveling with us. No step-down on the second trip. No twelve-month window. No clause that quietly runs out while you're not looking. If they come back to us in four years for Patagonia and you had nothing to do with it, you still get paid.
Nobody in this segment publishes that, and I checked more than thirty trade pages before I wrote it. The closest anyone comes is a sentence about being “dedicated to protecting” your commission on future bookings, which is an intention rather than a promise.
Now the part most suppliers leave out of this section. I do stay in touch with people who've traveled with us. Photos, the occasional new journey, the kind of thing that makes someone start thinking about next year. I'm telling you that up front because you'd find out eventually, and I'd rather you heard it from me than from a forwarded email.
Here's what that means in practice. When a past traveler who came to us through you writes me about a next trip, I bring you into that conversation before I answer them. Not after I've quoted it. Before. You get the commission either way, because that's what the paragraph above says. I'd rather you got the client back too.
And there's nothing to route around me to. The operators behind these journeys are trade-only. They don't sell to consumers, they don't take direct bookings, and there's no booking button anywhere on their sites. That's unusual, and it's most of the reason this collection exists. Your client can't find a cheaper version of this trip by searching, because there isn't a version of it to find.
What we're built for
What we're built for
Parties of two to twelve.
Active travel where the client expects the difference to show, at altitude and in places where the logistics are the hard part.
Clients who've done the easy version of travel and want something that asks more of them.

If that's what your client wants, I'll tell you on the first call and point you somewhere better suited. Your time is worth more than a polite maybe.
